About David Fletcher

David Fletcher is an Australian guitar builder, educator and the maker behind Fletcher Handcrafted Guitars. He was among the early guitar makers to share detailed, practical guitar-building tuition on YouTube. His channel, established in 2006, has grown to nearly 50,000 subscribers and more than 8.8 million views, helping builders around the world learn everything from construction and carving to staining and hand-finishing.

For ten years, David also ran hands-on guitar-building classes from his workshop. Students travelled from across Australia and overseas to build their own instruments under his guidance, bringing together guitar makers from many different countries.

After a decade of teaching—and as demand for his template range continued to grow—David decided to slow the pace and concentrate on the template side of the business. He remains active at the bench and regularly shares new builds, experiments and workshop progress through the Fletcher Handcrafted Guitars Facebook page.

What are the templates made from?+

The Fletcher template sets are CNC-cut from 12 mm MDF, giving a router bearing a stable guiding surface and making the templates suitable for repeated use.

Do the templates come with measurements?+

Yes. Every template set includes a printed reference sheet listing the relevant hole sizes, drilling and routing depths, body and neck thicknesses, and other measurements needed for the build.

Do you ship outside Australia?+
